5.3 Shipping methods
Local orders can easily be delivered by land at an affordable cost but international shipping, on the other hand, is a bit more complicated. The main ways are by sea or air. Shipping by sea freight is the cheapest method of international shipping but it will take a long time – standard freight can take anywhere between 5 days to 40 days depending on the distance. Air shipment is by far the fastest way to deliver but the cost is extremely high. Other things to factor are the import tax, customs fees and regulations for certain countries but these fees are usually quite low for clothing.
To avoid the headache of planning shipment and logistics by yourself, consider appointing a forwarder who is a logistics expert that can handle door-to-door shipping on your behalf. The forwarder will organise the cheapest and fastest way to deliver your products. Alternatively, you can hire an internal manager should you need to.
